Notes:

  1. It is up to you to make sure that your partner has all of this information.
  2. Because daylight is limited, it is important that teams arrive by 5:45pm to set up, warm up, and be ready to play by 6:00pm. Match time is forfeit time for the first game. The second and the third games are forfeit 15 and 30 minutes, respectively, after match time.
  3. The early match will end *exactly* at the start time listed on the above schedule for the late match (which changes from week to week--see below). If time runs out in the middle of a rally, that rally is void and the score before that serve is the final score, even if it is a tie.
  4. Late-match players should be warming up before the end of the early match so that they will be ready to start their match after brief on- court hitting.
  5. Read the schedule carefully, especially with regard to start times. The start time for the late match changes in relation to sundown, becoming later, and then earlier, as the season progresses.
  6. Matches consist of 3 games. The first 2 are sideout (regular) scoring and the third game is rally-point scoring, unless *both teams* agree to use sideout scoring for the third game. However, the match will end on schedule, regardless of the choice reached by the teams.
  7. Games are 15 points, win by 2, with a cap of 17 for sideout scoring and no cap for rally-point scoring.
  8. There are no assigned courts; court selection is on a first-come, first- served basis.
  9. If the weather appears uncertain, call 410-788-3412 after 4:30pm. If matches have been postponed, there will be a recorded message to that effect. If there is no message, we are playing.
